Indigenous Poetry Showcase and Contest
APR
19
This event will be held to celebrate and honor Indigenous languages here at the FLC campus but also around the world as a part of International Mother Language Day. IMLD is celebrated every year on February 21 st and this year some of my students and other collogues were able to celebrate this day of linguistic and cultural diversity. However, we would like to do more with language by having a day where we celebrate language through poetry. The overall goal is to bring awareness to Feb. 21 and its importance to helping FLC achieve steps toward reconciliation but to also celebrate diversity through poetry and readings in indigenous languages.
