Student Affairs - Local Support Family Program

Local Support Family Program

The Local Support Family Program (formerly Host Family Program) offers the opportunity for new students to be paired with families in the Durango area to help ease the transition to college life.

Students do not live with local families but can look forward to possible outings, meals, friendship, rides to local businesses and the airport, and having a local resource.  In addition, the program hosts a few events during the year to facilitate the host family connection. We anticipate that many of the relationships that develop will become life-long friendships.

Although new students have priority, there may be opportunities for continuing students to be paired with host families, if they are available.

The deadline for applying to the Local Support Family Program is July 31st. Students who apply after the deadline are likely to be placed on a waiting list.

To participate, complete the Student Application and you will be notified when you are matched with a host family.

If you are interested in becoming a host family, complete the Family Application and a steering committee member will contact you with more information.

If you have questions about the program, please contact the host family liaison at, (970) 247-7573, or:
