Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education

Students in all licensure programs may seek an add-on endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (often referred to as English as a Second Language). Since this add-on licensure program entails additional coursework, students should expect that the time needed to complete both the primary licensure program and an add-on will exceed four years.

The Teacher Education Department at Fort Lewis College has now been approved by the Colorado Department of Education to offer the Bilingual Specialist Endorsement (CLD-S), which can be added to the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLD) Endorsement.  Students who complete the CLD and CLD-S requirements (Spanish or Navajo) will receive the add-on endorsement(s) to their Colorado teaching licensure.

Please see CLD Endorsement to view needed coursework.
