What is the PLACE Exam?
The PLACE (Program for Licensing Assessments for Colorado Educators) Exam is a state-specific education test. Candidates for initial educator licenses (provisional licenses) in Colorado are required to take and pass one or more content-area tests. This includes candidates for teaching, special services, principal, and administrator licenses.
There is no limit to the number of times you may retake any PLACE test. You should, however, identify your PLACE requirements as early as possible and carefully plan your schedule for taking the test(s) to allow time for retaking them, if needed.
