Title:

Silverton Railroad's Corkscrew Gulch covered turntable under construction
Date/circa:  1899
Photographer:
Subjects: Silverton Railroad (Colo.); ; Railroads--Colorado--Curves and turnouts--Pictorial works; Corkscrew Gulch (Colo.)
Notes: Railroad tracks in the mountains leading to a covered turn table or roundhouse so that a train can in essence turn a switchback. The hillside to the left is cleared of trees and there is some snow cover on the mountain peaks in the background. The Center also has a smaller copy print here of the original photoprint.
