Craig Childs, author of Apocalyptic Planet, to speak at Fort Lewis College
Craig Childs, author of Apocalyptic Planet: Field Guide to the Future of the Earth, will visit campus for a presentation and book signing on Wednesday, February 8 at 7 p.m. The event will take place at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College.
A second chance to hear from Mr. Childs and get a book signed will be Thursday, February 9 in the Student Union Ballroom at 12:45 p.m. Free tickets for both the Concert Hall event and the Ballroom event are available at FLC’s Reed Library, the Durango Public Library, and Maria’s Bookshop. Tickets are going fast.
Prior to Thursday’s presentation, Mr. Childs will be at a reception in Reed Library from 9:30 – 11 a.m. At 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Child’s will lead a discussion on writing and publishing in Noble Hall, Rm. 130. Both the Reed Library event and the Noble Hall event are free and open to the public. No tickets are necessary.
Apocalyptic Planet is this year’s Fort Lewis College Common Reading Experience selection. Each year, the College selects one book for all of campus to read. The selection is integrated into classroom discussions and other College and community events.
