FLC Tuition Promise covers tuition cost for Colorado residents
Eligible Colorado residents can attend Fort Lewis College tuition-free now under the new grant FLC Tuition Promise. First-year and current student residents whose family income is $60,000 or less are eligible to receive the grant to cover tuition costs for four years.
“We are committed to Colorado’s working families and the FLC Tuition Promise guarantees tuition costs are covered for them at FLC,” says President Tom Stritikus.
Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine total family income, and they must apply for the Colorado Opportunity Fund. Federal and state funds based on these applications will be used first to pay Promise students’ tuition. FLC will then use institutional grants, like Merit and Department scholarships, for tuition costs. If awards through these programs does not cover the full cost of tuition, FLC will make up the difference with the FLC Tuition Promise.
The FLC Tuition Promise does not cover fees or other costs of attendance. Additional grant, scholarship, work-study, and loan funds are available to help with the other costs of education, like books and room and board. If tuition increases, financial aid will also increase.
The Financial Aid Office will review a student’s Satisfactory Academic Progress at the end of Spring term each academic year, to determine academic standing and renewal of the FLC Tuition Promise.
