Why a college education still matters

Families want to know that college will lead somewhere. At FLC, that means more than preparing for a first job.

Students build the knowledge, judgment, communication skills, and real-world experience they need to understand complex problems, work with different people, and keep learning as the world changes. Through small classes, faculty mentorship, research, field experiences, creative work, internships, and Career Services, students connect what they learn to careers, graduate school, and community impact.

What support can look like

Support at FLC is not just one office or one appointment. It can look like a professor noticing when a student has a question, an advisor helping them adjust their plan, a peer educator working through a hard class with them, or Career Services helping them connect college experience to a future path. 

Students are expected to take responsibility for their education, but they are not expected to figure everything out alone.
