Following strong feedback from attendees of the Durango Women’s Leadership Conference, Fort Lewis College is launching a new Women’s Leadership in Practice Series designed to offer more time, deeper engagement, and hands-on learning with conference presenters.

The four-week series, which begins Tuesday, April 7, runs from 4:30–6 p.m. each Tuesday in April at the Fort Lewis College Center for Innovation on Main Street in downtown Durango.

Attendees of February’s conference consistently shared a common request: more time with presenters to move from inspiration to application. The Women’s Leadership in Practice Series responds directly to that call, offering interactive workshops that focus on practical tools, guided activities, and real-world leadership strategies.

“This series is about building confidence, creating meaningful connections, and giving participants tools they can immediately apply — while also fostering a strong network of support across the region,” said Phelps Feeley, assistant director of workforce and community relations at Fort Lewis College.

The series features four conference presenters leading high-impact sessions:

  • April 7 — The GROW Lab: A 90-Day Plan to Move from Stuck to Achieving Your Next Milestone with Dr. Michelle Flemmings, focused on clarifying leadership objectives and creating an actionable plan.
  • April 14 — Worthy of More: Putting Your Identity Shift into Practice with Maggie Emerson, exploring how identity shapes confidence, decision-making, and financial growth.
  • April 21 — Beyond Burnout: Turning Hard-Won Lessons into a Stress Management Plan with Melissa May, helping participants recognize and address early signs of burnout.
  • April 28 — The 4Cs in Action: Diving into Courage, Confidence, and Creating Change with Robin Duffy-Wirth, centered on courage, confidence, and meaningful change.

Each session is designed to be practical and participatory, with participants leaving with tangible takeaways such as a plan, framework, tool, or personal insight to support their leadership journey.

The Women’s Leadership in Practice Series is open to the public. Participation is $99, and space is limited.
