What is Code Red?

We are a network of facilitators trained in an anti-bias educational program that promotes cultural awareness and combats discrimination. We are seeking to heal and protect our campus and community from past, present and future acts of discrimination and prejudice. We do this through education and awareness and by connecting students, faculty and staff and community members in intercultural dialogue and introspective activities.

History of Code Red

Created in the academic year 2007-08, Code Red is funded and supported by staff members from the Division of Student Affairs. We served a total of 1,228 individuals in the Academic Year 2008-2009 — a 71% increase from our first year on campus and even more in 2009-10. We are making great progress toward celebrating our truly multicultural community and equitable society here at Fort Lewis College.  Our name "Code Red" comes from C.O.D - which stood for "Campus of Difference."  The word red comes from the spanish term "red" which means the network or internet.
