Rachel Landis, coordinator of the FLC Environmental Center, was named in Durango's Top Ten Localists, a collection of individuals who live and thrive in La Plata County, walking the talk of supporting the local economy and inspiring others to do the same.

Janine Fitzgerald and Keri Brandt, professors of Sociology, gave a plenary talk at the Quivira Coalition's 20th Annual Conference in Albuquerque in November, titled "Zombie Agriculture: Debt, Death, and the Radical Center." Twelve Skyhawks were honored at FLC's Athletics Banquet on December 4. The Jan Wilson Hetzler Outstanding Senior Female Athlete of the Year was cross country runner Erin Renner and the Don Whalen Outstanding Senior Male Athlete of the Year was soccer midfielder Nathan Roberts. MVPs were also named for each fall sport. 

Sophomore Exercise Science major Riley Farris tied a school record on December 2, while scoring a career high 31 points. His 12-for-12 field goal performance matches best field goal percentage in a game (minimum 10 attempts) with Kevin Hatch's 11-for-11 field goal mark.
