President Dene Thomas offered the 2017 commencement address at her alma mater, Southwest Minnesota State University.

The Division I FLC cycling team finished their season ranked #2 in the nation.

At the conclusion of the 2017 Hozhoni Days Powwow, senior Business Administration major Natalia Sells was named the 38th Miss Hozhoni, joined by junior Business Administration major Jocelyn Frank as First Attendant.

FLC's School of Business Administration extended its accreditation with AACSB International, following a process of rigorous internal review, engagement with an AACSB-assigned mentor, and peer review. Only 5% of the world's business schools achieve this honor.
