Alumnus Jason Pierce (History and English, '98), associate professor of History at Angelo State University, published his first book, "Making the White Man's West: Whiteness and the Creation of the American West."

Alumni Ben Luck (Physics, '14), Nate Klema (Physics, '15), and Matt Klema (Engineering, '14) were part of a team that broke a 32-year-old speed record down the Grand Canyon using non-motorized watercraft.
