Twelve Skyhawks were honored at FLC's Athletics Banquet on December 4. The Jan Wilson Hetzler Outstanding Senior Female Athlete of the Year was cross country runner Erin Renner and the Don Whalen Outstanding Senior Male Athlete of the Year was soccer midfielder Nathan Roberts. Sophomore Exercise Science major Riley Farris tied a school record on December 2, while scoring a career high 31 points. His 12-for-12 field goal performance matches best field goal percentage in a game (minimum 10 attempts) with Kevin Hatch's 11-for-11 field goal mark.

The FLC Board of Trustees approved a new Master's in "Education: Culturally & Linguistically Diverse" to start in Fall 2018. The program still requires approval from the Colorado Department of Higher Education to become official.
