Alumnus John Harper (Business Administration, '14) was named as General Manager of the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

Rachel Landis, coordinator of the Environmental Center, was one of 22 selected to join the Nonprofit Leadership & Management Program run by the Community Resource Center in Denver.

Navajo tribal member and alumnus Sean McCabe (Accounting, '97) was honored with the American Indian Business of the Year Award.

Fort Lewis College is, thanks to its history and location, a multicultural institution. And Common Ground, the FLC anti-bias organization, aims to engage the entire campus population in intercultural dialogues. “Common Ground is about knowing and learning from each other,” says Nancy Stoffer, coordinator of Diversity Programming, which manages the Common Ground program.

Organized by FLC Exercise Science faculty, staff and students, the race is a way to raise scholarship money for students.

The FLC Board of Trustees confirmed the appointment of three professors emeriti: Gordon Cheesewright, professor of English emeritus; William Dodds, professor of Marketing emeritus; and Ron Estler, professor of Chemistry emeritus.

Junior guard Joshua Blaylock and head men's basketball coach Bob Pietrack earned National Association of Basketball Coaches South Central Region honors. Blaylock was named to the NABC All-South Central First Team and Pietrack was named the NABC South Central Region Coach of the Year.

Students involved in FLC's outdoor adventure club, Outdoor Pursuits, took off to three locations over their spring break: the wilds of Texas, southern California, and the Grand Canyon.

“Food is everything,” says Aolani Peiper, a freshman at Fort Lewis College and the coordinator for the Real Food Challenge team. “And students can make a difference just by what they eat.” Now, the entire campus community can make an even bigger difference through the Vote Real campaign.
