Bob Pietrack (Exercise Science, ’04), in his first year as head coach of the Skyhawks men’s basketball team, was named the NABC South Central Region Coach of the Year, RMAC Coach of the Year, and the Hoopdirt.com Coach of the Week in late February. He was also a finalist for the Auerbach College Coach of the Year.

Joshua Blaylock (Junior, Exercise Science) was named to the to the NABC All-South Central First Team, First Team All-RMAC Honors, 2016 RMAC Men's Basketball Tournament MVP, and 4-time Student Athlete of the Week.

Cheryl Clay, professor emerita of Teacher Education, recently published a book, Immigrant in Peril, about the European immigrant experience of the mid 1800s.

Tawnie Knight (Business Administration, '12) an economic development specialist for the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, was appointed to the Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado Board of Directors.
