FLC remembers Jeremy Coleman, School of Business Administration professor and leader

Jeremy Coleman, School of Business Administration professor and assistant dean, died July 17, 2020 at age 79.

Coleman was first hired at FLC as an associate professor of Business Administration in 1983. He would then become full professor and assistant dean of the School of Business Administration in 1987. He also served as interim SOBA dean for a stint before retiring in 2001. He was named professor emeritus in 2002.

“Jeremy was my professor first, then a mentor, and always a friend,” says Steve Schwartz, FLC chief operating officer and vice president of Finance & Administration. “Jeremy's passion for teaching and learning was infectious. He helped us to believe in ourselves and pushed us outside our comfort zones. I will always remember the sparkle in Jeremy's eye, whether we were discussing strategy, world travel, or his family. I will miss Jeremy immensely, as will all those who had the privilege of knowing him.”

Coleman loved to travel and helped create FLC’s International Study Abroad Program in Europe, personally leading many student groups. He also initiated a scholarship for FLC students studying internationally.
