Bill Collins, associate professor of Chemistry, received $65,000 from the USDA Agricultural Research Service to fund work on “Natural Products to Control Honey Bee Diseases” to isolate compounds that can be safely used to promote honey bee health.
Marya Corrigan, director of TRIO Upward Bound, received a supplemental award of $39,760 from the U.S. Department of Education to fund the TRIO Upward Bound program.
Richard Fulton, dean of the School of Education, received $125,000 from the Colorado Department of Higher Education Title II program to fund the “SW Rural Educator Recruitment and Retention Project,” which is designed to increase the number and diversity of educators, particularly Native American and Hispanic educators, in high need endorsement areas in southwestern Colorado.
Bryant Liggett, station manager of KDUR, received $115,874 from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to fund station activities in 2019.

Billy Nollet, assistant professor of Physics & Engineering, received $304,958 over three years from the Schusterman Family Foundation for “Career Pathways to Promote Tribal Nation Building” to provide a funded academic and/or professional STEM experience that promotes tribal nation building and places students in a pipeline to a career in Native communities.
Megan Paciaroni, associate professor of Physics & Engineering, received $1,978 from the LPEA RoundUp Foundation for “Supporting the REU Experience3” to provide meals and extracurricular activities as part of the NSF REU program.

Kendra Gallegos Reichle, coordinator of Student Wellness Initiatives, received $5,000 for two years from the Coalition of Colorado Campus Alcohol and Drug Educators to revamp the campus bi-annual alcohol and drug screening program.
Margaret Shields, assistant professor of Health Sciences, received $4,144 of in-kind support from the University of Alaska/NIH BLAST project to carry out “Farm to Table: Food Sustainability and Nutrition Education in the Higher Education Classroom Environment.”
