The best of the best of student research on display at FLC Undergraduate Research Symposium

Have you ever wondered about how fairy tales effect how we learn about gender? Or how to best design a rocket propellant feed system? Or did you want a better understanding of Informalism in art?

These are only a few of the questions examined in the research projects that Fort Lewis College students have been working on this year. At the FLC Undergraduate Research Symposium, the public is invited to listen, learn and debate topics ranging from art to mathematics.

The Symposium will be on Thursday, April 23 beginning at 8 a.m. FLC students will present their research findings in oral presentations in the Student Union Vallecito Room (8 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and then Roshong Recital Hall in Jones Hall (1:30 to 6 p.m.). Poster presentations will follow from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. The Symposium is free and open to everyone.

Research is a cornerstone of a Fort Lewis College education, and the College enjoys a growing reputation for offering its students a graduate-level research experience at the undergraduate level. The opportunity to do real research with an expert faculty mentor is a great advantage for FLC graduates as they move on to graduate school or a career.
