FLC mourns former President Joel M. Jones

Former Fort Lewis College president Joel Jones passed away just before midnight on Wednesday, July 13. Dr. Jones was named FLC president in 1988 after serving as vice president for Administration and Student Affairs at the University of New Mexico. He would serve at the helm of the College until 1998.

Dr. Ryan Smith

Students in Associate Professor Ryan Smith's Engineering classes are helping keep the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad running by recreating broken parts with 3-D printed models.

Beau L'Amour

Beau L'Amour, son of western writer Louis L'Amour, visited Jillian Wenburg's Comp 250 summer session class to educate the students on the writing, motion picture, and marketing industries.
Just outside of Telluride, Tomten Farm on Hastings Mesa provides various educational opportunities about sustainable living practices. These students had just completed a large drainage project to help redirect water on the property.

Students get their hands dirty in Ecology and Society Field School [PHOTOS]

Students in Associate Professor of Sociology Becky Clausen's Ecology & Society Field School don't spend their time looking at PowerPoint presentations. In the five-week summer course, the class travels all over the Four Corners area to different ranches, farms, and gardens to learn about the relationship between people, animals, the land, water, and food.
