Transfer Student Admission

To be considered for transfer admission, you must:

• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 across all college coursework.
• Be prepared for college-level math and English through completed coursework or remedial education.
• If you've completed fewer than 24 college credits, we'll also review your high school academic record.
• Guaranteed admission from a Colorado public two-year college

You're guaranteed admission to FLC if you:

• Earn an Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree from a Colorado public two-year college.
• Have a combined GPA of at least 2.5 across all colleges you've attended.
• Earn a C or better in all courses.

A non-refundable $40 application fee is required to process your application. 

You can pay your application fee with a bank debit or credit card online with your application.

You can also submit your application without payment and send a check from a United States bank or a bank money order in United States currency payable to “Fort Lewis College.” If you choose to send a check, please be sure your full name and date of birth are included on it.

Application fee waiver

You can request a fee waiver if you have extreme financial need. Select "yes" on the admission application when asked if you want to request a fee waiver due to financial hardship.

Request official transcripts from all colleges and universities you've attended early. Your application isn't complete until FLC receives all required transcripts, and sending them early gives you more time for admission, transfer-credit evaluation, advising, and registration.

Your previous institutions must send official transcripts directly to FLC by mail or electronic submission:

If you've completed fewer than 24 college-level semester credits, you'll also need to submit one of the following:

• Official final high school transcript by mail, fax, or Naviance
• Homeschool transcript showing subjects and grades for each year
• High school equivalency record (GED, HiSET, or TASC) that includes your graduation date

We encourage you to submit a personal statement or essay as a part of your admission application. While optional, it can provide valuable information for our review process.

This is a writing sample and should be between 200 and 500 words. Please tell us more about your educational journey and your academic goals. 

• Why would you like to attend Fort Lewis College?
• What would you like to study here, and why does that subject or program interest you?
• Why did you leave your previous institution(s)? 

If applicable, we encourage you to use this space to discuss any hardships or challenges you have faced during your educational journey.
