Walter Dear’s generous gift will help students persist in their education by providing funds for small outstanding balances and in-semester emergencies.

With the newly created Skyhawk Persistence Grant, Fort Lewis College is bridging a gap to degree completion for students facing unexpected financial hardships.

President Begaye and FLC President Tom Stritikus signed an agreement that provides $2,500 per student, per term. The agreement also establishes a partnership between FLC and the Office of Navajo Nation Scholarship and Financial Assistance (ONNSFA), which will distribute and monitor the funds.

FLC donors recently shared a meal and saw presentations by students who receive scholarships at the Benefactors Brunch. The annual gathering is an opportunity for those who give to FLC scholarships to meet the students who benefit from that support. [PHOTOS] 

In a series of candid, moving testimonials, FLC students talk about the importance of scholarships, family, Durango, and the change coming to Fort Lewis made in their lives. This film was shown at our 2018 Benefactor's Brunch in November. 

The First National Bank of Durango and the Fitzgerald family recently gave a $100,000 gift to Fort Lewis College. The donation is in recognition of the board of directors of the bank, which was recently sold to TBK Bank, SSB. The First National Bank of Durango had a long association with FLC, and the gift has already impacted students and campus is a positive way.

The campus community mourns the loss of Beatrice “Mickie” Thurston, a long-time supporter of and benefactor to the College.

The Fall Blaze Bicycle Tour is a chance for anyone who loves to ride to enjoy the autumn colors of the San Juan Mountains while supporting the  #3 ranked Skyhawks cycling team. 

The Fort Lewis College Foundation has announced the endowment of what is now to be known as the Stephen A. Roderick Endowed Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is designated to support Fort Lewis College students in the Teacher Education program.

Aspiring teachers received a big boost thanks to Durango teaching legend and Old Fort alumna Roberta Barr.
