Be active in creating a more sustainable world, and get started right here on campus. Through the Environmental Center (EC) you can take part in creating campus initiatives and holding events to promote environmental and social change.
Join us for Earth Week - April 17-21, 2023
You love the planet we live on, and you want to care for it for future generations. Start now. Right now. Our campus is full of opportunities for you to start making a difference. Join the EC, join a student group (RSO), or volunteer for specific events and projects to green up our community.
We have lots of ways you can stay in the know on all the environmental events happening on campus and in our community!
Get the latest info in your inbox every two weeks with our email newsletter, the EC Digest. Find out about jobs in sustainability, community events, campus projects, and more.
If FB is more your jam, be sure to check out our Facebook events page. Find events on campus, at the Old Fort, and around Durango that feed your passion for environmental and sustainability issues. You can also follow us on Instagram at @environmentalcenterflc.
See all our campus and Old Fort environmental events on the FLC calendar. See what’s happening this weekend or filter your search by category.
Develop an applied research project. Tap into the knowledge of our professional staff. Make use of our library of donation-based environmental and social sustainability books, videos, and other resources. The EC is here to support students and faculty in academic pursuits that support sustainability.
EC staff are standing members of FLC’s Campus Sustainability Committee (CSC). We actively shape sustainability initiatives on campus that support FLC’s commitment to social and environmental responsibility. From campus composting to energy efficiencies, transportation to food systems, our entire FLC community is working toward a more sustainable future.
