A registration waitlist is a electronic list of students who are waiting to register for a full class. All classes have an available waitlist except for courses that have a required lab with a separate CRN (for example: CHEM 150).
You need to satisfy any relevant prerequisites and restrictions (like the instructor's signature) before you can get on the waitlist for a class.
You are allowed to join a waitlist for a class that will conflict with another class you are currently registered for. This allows you flexibility as you sort out your schedule. You will have to drop the class with which there is a time conflict before you will be able to register for the waitlisted class.
When you try to register for a full class, you will get a Registration Add Error, which will show up at the bottom of the page. The error will tell you that the class is closed, and it will tell you how many people are currently on the waitlist.
If a space opens up in the class and you are the next person in line on the waitlist, an email will be sent to your FLC email address notifying you that there is a space available for you.
Once that email is sent out, you have 36 hours to register for the class (the specific deadline will be noted in the email). If you do not register within that time-frame, you will be dropped from the waitlist. The time-frame changes to 24 hours beginning the first day of the semester.
If you miss the registration window, you are welcome to re-join the waitlist, but you will re-join at the end of the line.
