  • Adobe Acrobat Reader for PDF- This will help you stay organized. You can create folders and upload course materials into the proper folders. You won't be able to annotate as some apps allow but this way you have all of your schoolwork at one organized place.
  • Notability (you must have the newest update for this app to work) - This app costs $4.99. If this is something that you are able to get, it's money very well spent.

For iPad

  • Notability – A very good note-taking app. The Apple pencil will make this user experience more enjoyable and will allow user to take advantage of all of the features that Notability has. It's simple and easy to use. Most importantly its organization is intuitive. It is a one-time cost of between $5.00 - 10.00.
  • Voice Dream - This app is for those individuals who need text to speech or if you prefer information read to you out loud. The cost is 14.99.
  • Easy Reader is a free app that can read digital books just as Voice Dream can.

Accessibility for Windows

The accessibility features that are incorporated in Windows computers include: narrator, magnifier, high contrast, closed captions, keyboard, and mouse. Each option includes customization capabilities designed to improve access to the computer.

  • Notion is an app that works for all platforms and is a great way to keep notes and study. This app is free!
  • Library Genesis is a great resource for accessible textbooks. This website mostly has PDFs and some STEM books have been available. I have found that the ISBN number of the book is a more accurate way to search for whatever book you want. This could be a good resource if you don’t have the book or are wanting it for text to speech.
  • Bookshare is a great place to find Epubs.
  • Grammarly is a great free app to assist you in writing.
  • Download Microsoft Teams. This is a great way to communicate with anyone else who has Teams. This includes professors and students. It is also an easy way to video chat.
  • OneNote is a free note taking app that would be beneficial for those students who use equations or STEAM majors. This app applies to all devices and will sync between all of them. This app is expansive and can do a lot.
