How to join the college Climbing Team

As a FLC Climbing athlete/scholar, you can expect:

  • Two climbing practices a week with professional climbing coaches.
  • Individualized training plans based on your goals, strengths, and growth areas in climbing.
  • Weekly practices at Durango’s new, state of the art climbing gym, Gravity Lab.
  • Travel to Rocky Mountain Collegiate Climbing competitions and National Collegiate Championships for bouldering, lead, and top-rope disciplines.
  • Involvement in a tight-knit climbing community of students at Fort Lewis, and opportunities to engage with the larger Durango climbing community through events and fundraisers.
  • Opportunity to learn from local professional climbers.

Costs

  • $300 per semester
  • Must have own personal equipment (shoes, harness, and chalk bag)

Requirements

  • Academic Requirements
    • No academic, financial, or disciplinary holds
    • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.0
    • Enrolled for a minimum of 12 credits per semester
  • Other Requirements
    • Adhere to the FLC Climbing Code of Ethics
    • Assist with/participate regularly in events and fundraising
    • Stay up-to-date on annual dues payments.
