Village Aid Project

Village Aid Project at Fort Lewis College

Building a better world one community at a time . . .

WHO? We are a group of volunteer faculty members, students and community partners who share the belief that everyone in the world has certain basic rights such as a right to safety, a right to the resources needed to feed and care for their family, a right to clean water and others. We believe that it is important for us to use our gifts to help others realize these rights.

WHAT? "When the well is dry, we know the worth of water", Benjamin Franklin, Poor Richards Almanac 1746

Water is the common denominator of need for all people. We can't live without it. The lack of accessible, potable water impacts the health and economic structure of every society. We have chosen to focus our efforts on providing improved water and sanitation to needy communities.

WHERE? We have worked in rural villages in Thailand, Laos, Ecuador, Nicaragua and Myanmar.

SUSTAINABILITY! A project without sustainability has limited impact. We take sustainability very seriously. Read more about our commitment to sustainability
