Spring Symposium & Awards Gala

The Undergraduate Research Spring Symposium & Awards Gala provides students an opportunity to give oral and poster presentations about their scholarly work.  This event is happening on Thursday, April 25th this year.  The whole campus and wider community is invited to participate!  Join us throughout the day and come to the gala where we will watch student TED-like talks, see the debut of this year's Scholars' Video, and recognize the 2024 UGR Scholar Award winners.

Schedule:

• 9:15 am to 9:45 am Kickoff in the CO Room w/breakfast
• 9:45 am to 10:45 am Poster Session A, Student Union Ballroom
• 11:00 am to Noon Oral Presentation Session 1, Noble130, Chem130, Vallecito, and/or Senate Chambers
• 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm Poster Session B, Student Union Ballroom w/ lunch
• 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm Oral Presentation Session 2, Noble130, Chem130, Vallecito, and/or Senate Chambers
• 2:45 pm to 3:45 pm Oral Presentation Session 3, Noble130, Chem130, Vallecito, and/or Senate Chambers
• 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm Awards Gala: Student TED-like talks, Scholars Video & Awards, Mainstage of the FLC Theatre w/ drinks & appetizers at the end

Oral presentations

Each department can select two students to give oral presentations; Chairs, please let Christine know by Friday, April 12.  Invited students will be asked to fill out an Oral Presentation Registration form. Talks last 10 minutes with 1-2 minutes for questions. Click HERE to see which speakers are speaking when, where and what the titles of their talks are.

Students who would like to present a poster, please submit the form below by Friday, April 19. This will reserve an easel, poster board, and spot for you at the event. Our office will let you know by Monday April 22 which session you are in.  Visit our UGR Canvas for information on how to create & print a poster at FLC.
