NIH-funded MU PREP Scholars Program The NIH-funded MU PREP Scholars Program is specifically designed to prepare underrepresented or underserved students for entry into highest-quality PhD programs in one of the biomedical sciences. The program is designed for students who have received or are about to receive a baccalaureate degree but who are not yet fully prepared to enter and successfully complete a PhD program. Since 2003, MU PREP has provided a highly mentored environment that includes an individualized research experience, targeted but limited coursework, and professional development including GRE preparation and assistance in the graduate application process, with a stipend of $27,200 for 45 underrepresented students.
