About Jay Dougan

Jay Dougan is an associate professor of art in the Department of Art & Design at Fort Lewis College. He joined the college in 2007. Mr. Dougan has installed large-scale sculptures around the country, exhibiting his work regionally and nationally in galleries and museums such as the Foothills Art Center in Golden, Colorado, the Delta Center for the Arts at San Joaquin Delta College, and the San Angelo Museum in San Angelo, Texas.

His sculptures are inspired by natural forms and structures, the earth, and industrial objects. Mr. Dougan’s work has received awards in juried shows and exhibitions across the U.S. In 2011, Dougan received the Fort Lewis College New Faculty Teaching Award. Prior to joining Fort Lewis, Mr. Dougan was an instructor at the Herron School of Art and Design, Indiana University/Purdue University Indianapolis.
