The Department Chair serves in one of FLC’s most important academic leadership roles, providing a vision for the department’s academic field of study: how is a discipline shaped and put into practice in an innovative, exciting FLC major? In addition to determining FLC’s academic curriculum, the Chair oversees the lived experience of that programming, providing guidance to students as they navigate their coursework and degree requirements. And, the Chair is responsible for the hiring and mentoring of their fellow faculty, helping to ensure a collegial, collaborative approach to all academic projects.
