Join Sue Kraus, Professor of Psychology, and Kristin Polens, Director of the Accessibility Resource Center, on Thursday, February 26 from 1-2:30 pm in EBH 130, for an honest discussion about accommodation requests that give us pause and make us uncomfortable. We will discuss the ever changing and complex world of classroom accommodations including alternative assignments, extended time, absences, use of technology, notes or process sheets, group projects, etc. We will explore what constitutes a “reasonable” accommodation to make our classrooms inclusive without sacrificing rigor and equity, and where accommodations cannot be made. Our hope is to facilitate an open discussion where we share ideas, successes, and frustrations. Interpersonal Awareness event.
