About Dr. Broussard

Dr. Broussard is a visiting instructor in the FLC Department of Public Health for the 2023-2024 fall and spring semesters. For the last 19 years, she worked in the biotechnology industry, most recently as a Staff Scientist for a large multinational corporation. Her work while in industry specialized in developing diagnostic kits for human (genetic) and animal (viral and bacterial) disease detection.

Before industry, Dr. Broussard was a researcher and instructor for 16 years at Texas A&M University, College Station, University of Texas at Austin, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Her research mainly focused on viral molecular biology and protein expression. She has taught Immunology laboratory, Molecular and Cell Biology, Genetics and evolution, Introductory Biology, and Diagnostic and Introductory Microbiology courses.
