UAMS is accepting applications for the Graduate Program in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences (GPIBS). They offer PhD training in the following GPIBS tracks:
· Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
· Cell Biology and Physiology
· Microbiology and Immunology
· Pharmacology, Toxicology and Experimental Therapeutics
Graduate students enrolled in the GPIBS PhD program receive a stipend (currently $24,000) and tuition and fees are paid. We also offer an MD/PhD program and a MS degree. There is no application fee. Additional information regarding UAMS and our programs can be found at http://gradschool.uams.edu/.
UAMS also offers a NIH funded Initiative for Maximizing Student Development (IMSD) program. The IMSD Program was developed to increase the number of students from underrepresented groups graduating with doctorates in the biomedical sciences and offers financial and academic support to participants. Students are supported for their first 2 years of doctoral student in the GPIBS or Pharmaceutical Sciences programs.
