One of the best ways to start out college life is through participation in one of our Peak Experiences. Whether it's hiking through the San Juan mountain range, engaging in cultural activities, or getting a head start on your education, this will be an amazing way to begin your academic adventure at FLC. We have three different Peak Experiences. Native Skyways to Success, JumpStart and Summit the San Juans. See below for details on each program.

NS2S participants will interact with peers from multiple tribal communities. Over 170 tribal nations are represented at Fort Lewis College from as far north as the Arctic Circle to the Southern reaches of the eastern seaboard. You will build community through experiential development, and focus on building academic capital within the College community so that your first year of college is a success.

Start your college career off with an exhilarating backpacking trip through the rugged and beautiful San Juan Mountains. Your new backyard is full of alpine meadows, trout filled lakes, deep forests, and jagged high peaks, so why not explore it with a group of your new peers? This backcountry experience is led by student leaders who have been trained in wilderness first aid, Leave-No-Trace ethics and group facilitation skills.
