Legal Name Change in Workday
If you change your name, your new name will appear on transcripts ordered after the change has been processed. You can even request a replacement diploma that reflects your new name.
To change your legal name:
- Select the photo icon at the top right of your Workday portal. Then select View Profile.
- Select the Actions button in your Profile, hover over Personal Data, then select Change My Legal Name.
- Review the documentation requirements for changing your name.
- Confirm the Country field is correct (auto-populates to the United States of America)
- Enter a prefix in the field, if applicable.
- Update the First Name, Middle Name, and/or Last Name fields as needed.
- Enter a Suffix in the field, if applicable.
- Enter an explanation in the Comment box for the reason for the name change.
- You can drag and drop the required document into the Attachment box or select Select Files to upload it from a location on your computer.
- Select Submit. This request requires additional approval before updates appear in Workday.
