About Dr. Chris Merriman

Dr. Merriman is a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Anthropology. His research interests focus on geoarchaeology, paleoenvironmental reconstruction, human behavioral ecology, and hunter-gatherer archaeology. 

He has worked primarily in New Mexico and Colorado but also in Arizona, Utah, Pennsylvania, Idaho, and North Dakota. In addition to research in North America, Dr. Merriman has worked on some of the oldest preceramic sites in the Maya Mountains of southern Belize.
