Do you want to make new friends before classes start? Do you enjoy the outdoors or connecting with people with similar interests? If you answered YES to either of these questions, then our PEAK Experiences are for you. These are small group experiences led by trained student leaders. And they'll be the foundation of your new community of friends, classmates, and campus life.
Choose from hiking through the San Juan mountain range, engaging in cultural activities, rafting down the San Juan River, or getting a head start on your education.

This is a multi-day river trip where you float the San Juan River during the day and camp outside next to the river under the stars.
JumpStart gets you ready to jump right in—you’ll be all settled into your new home at FLC before the semester even begins. Build relationships with other motivated students and FLC faculty and staff. Sharpen your skills in writing and research (composition) or math and academic skills and time management.
Build community with peers from multiple tribal communities. Over 170 tribal nations are represented at FLC from as far north as the Arctic Circle to the Southern reaches of the eastern seaboard.
For family members who cannot attend Orientation August 24-26. On August 20 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Ballroom inside the Student Union. Please register your family members for this event if they plan to attend.
Kick off your college career with the Pre-Nursing Peak Experience! You will join peers pursuing the Pre-Nursing degree track during this immersive, hands-on, experiential program.
Your new backyard is full of alpine meadows, trout-filled lakes, deep forests, and jagged high peaks, so why not explore it with a group of your new peers?
