Fall semester

February 5: The Fall 2024 housing application opens for *continuing and returning students. Assignments are made through room selection rounds; students with more credits get earlier choices.

March 13: The Fall 2024 housing application opens for first-year, transfer, and international students.

Continuing and returning students

Application timeline

Date Event Additional information
February 5 Housing application opens at 8 a.m. The application process prioritizes timeslots for room selection based on earned credits. We're trying to mitigate the rush to apply, as it is not first come, first served.
Week of March 11 First-round placements via room selection rounds Room selection is available through the housing portal. Timeslots remain open once they begin, but selection is competitive as 25 students enter the portal every 30 minutes.

Roommate groups can select together, led by the group leader.

*1,000 beds are off-limits for FY and Transfer students during this phase. 
March 27 Off-Campus Housing Fair An event to explore off-campus living options, inviting transfers and returning students to participate. 

Outside the Student Union 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27. Come learn about your rights as a renter, off-campus housing assistance, and available places in town to rent! 
April 30 Registration deadline for fall credit hours Students not registered for 9 fall credit hours by April 30 may lose their housing placement on May 1, but are eligible for the 2nd and 3rd lottery rounds once registered. 
May 20 Second-round room selection Must be registered for fall classes to be eligible
July 8 Final round room selection Must be registered for fall classes to be eligible. Students who apply after July 5 will receive a room assignment from the Housing Office. 
July 15 Fee Assessment Date Housing charges applied to student accounts 
July 31 Cancellation deadline A $100 cancellation fee will be assessed for cancellations received after this date. 
August 5 Late applicant housing placement Room assignments for students who applied after July 5. Students who apply after August 5 will receive a fall housing assignment based on availability.

Spring Semester

The Spring 2024 housing application is closed.

Summer Blocks

March 13: The Summer 2024 housing application opens. Summer housing is limited, and assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.
