How do I apply for Student Housing?

You can apply online for housing once you have been admitted to Fort Lewis College. As part of your application, you are able to request different housing types, rooms, and roommates. You can submit your $150 Housing Deposit as part of the online application. We recommend applying as soon as you are able, so you have as many options as possible. Some of our more popular options fill up quickly, however there is no deadline to apply.

What types of Student Housing are available on campus?

Fort Lewis College offers multiple different types of housing on campus. We offer both suite and traditional-style rooms, singles or doubles, apartment style, Gender Inclusive Housing, and Living-Learning Communities. The choice is yours! How do I request a roommate?

You are able to review, email, and request a roommate through your online housing application. Roommate requests are granted when space is available and the mutual request are made within a similar time-frame. If you are not sure about how to request a roommate, or nervous about the process, the College will help pair you with someone. We do our best to place students together who have similar interests and room preferences.

Can I choose my room on campus?

Students are able to request a specific room type as part of the online housing application. The College works to place you with students who share similar interests in the room type that you requested. If you find yourself wanting to change your room during the year, you can coordinate a room change with the Student Housing Office.

When do I know about my housing placement?

The College confirms building assignments through email in early June. A second email is sent out early August which details room assignment, roommate(s) contact information, and detailed move in instructions.

What is it like living on campus?

What if my plans for housing on campus change?

If you changed your mind about your room preference prior to move in, we do our best to facilitate the move based on availability and preference. For students that decide not to attend Fort Lewis College (and have not yet moved in), we do have a Cancellation of Housing Request Form available online.

How do I get connected on campus?

The Leadership Center serves as the primary resource for information and support for campus involvement opportunities. Take a look out our Involvement Opportunities page, which details various housing-related student organizations on campus. Fort Lewis College has an outstanding Recreational Services, Theatre Program, and more. Your Resident Assistant will help you find your specific niche on campus.
