Academic Standing Appeal

A student who has been Academically Separated may appeal if:

1. There are documented compelling and unforeseen reasons why academic standards were not met, and
2. There is a high probability the student’s cumulative GPA can be raised to 2.00 or higher in no more than one additional semester of coursework, determined by having a Quality Point Deficiency of no more than 10 points as determined by the GPA Repair Calculator.

Appeal by submitting an Academic Standing Appeal form, located in the Student Resource Center. Deadlines and hearing dates are listed below. The appeal form will require the following:

• Personal statement
• Your GPA Repair Calculator analysis
• Documentation supporting the personal statement in the appeal form

After receiving your appeal form, the the Academic Standards Committee will review it and your educational record on the corresponding hearing date. Notifications of appeal decisions will be sent to your FLC email address. Send questions about this process to academicstanding@fortlewis.edu.

Incomplete appeals and appeals received after the published deadline will not be reviewed.
