Academic Affairs implements numerous grants recognizing innovative ideas defining our academic initiatives. In addition, we create dynamic partnerships that connect Fort Lewis College to educational and industry leaders and join our students to educational and career success. 

Strategic grants

Fort Lewis College has been awarded many groundbreaking institutional grants. The Academic Affairs team is proud to oversee grants transforming our students' academic experience. Our most recent grants include: 

• Colorado Response, Innovation, and Student Equity (RISE) Grant funding the creation of a regional educational collaborative that creates innovative pathways from high school to college and careers
• Department of Education Title III Grant funding the creation of a comprehensive student support Academic Hub
• Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Grant funding the expansion of our Native American and Indigenous Studies department, with a focus on humanities and undergraduate research programming
• Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) Grant funding the creation of new programs that encourage students who have taken time off to reevaluate and complete their degree at Fort Lewis College

FLC schools also bring in a wide range of impressive grants, such as:

• The School of Arts and Sciences: National Institutes of Health (NIH) U-RISE Program funding undergraduate research training
• The School of Business Administration: Economic Development Association (EDA) Build to Scale Grant funding technology entrepreneurship
• The School of Education: collaborative creation of the Southwest Indigenous Language Development Institute (SILDI)
