About Dr. Doug Lyon

Dr. Lyon is a professor of management in the School of Business Administration at Fort Lewis College. He joined the College in 2002. Lyon develops and teaches courses such as Management Principles, Leadership Theory and Practice, and Strategic Business Communications, to name a few. Prior to joining Fort Lewis, Lyon was a Utah State University College of Business faculty member and taught courses focused on managing organizations and global business strategy. 

Lyon served as dean of the School of Business Administration at Fort Lewis College from 2011-2014 and accepted the position of Senior Corporate and Foundation Officer in 2015. Dr. Lyon's research interests include strategic management, leadership, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. He is widely published in academic journals such as the Journal of ManagementEntrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and the Journal of Management Education. Dr. Lyon was awarded the prestigious Fort Lewis College Featured Scholar award in 2005.
