An ecosystem of education

Student-teacher in the classroom

See yourself opening young minds to the joy of discovery. Envision yourself empowering young people with the tools to navigate our complex world, to become the next generation of innovators and problem solvers. Teach people to learn inside the classroom and out, whether that's the fundamentals of literacy and numeracy, or guiding wilderness trips. Or even leading your fellow teachers in the latest innovations. Imagine yourself in the School of Education.

Teaching licensure

Teaching science to children

There are many pathways to teacher licensure, and options for advancing your career once you are licensed. Our Teacher Education department offers undergraduate majors that prepare you for licensure, a post-baccalaureate program if you already have a college degree, and four graduate programs, one of which leads to licensure.

Adventure Education

Adventure Ed students in the canyons of the Southwest

Become a leader and educator, supporting others in developing their leadership skills. And do this in the mountains, canyons, and rivers of the Southwest. While the Adventure Education major prepares you for a variety of professions in the outdoors--from guiding trips in remote places to wilderness therapy, it does not build toward teacher licensure.
