Come to the Undergraduate Research Spring Symposium—a day dedicated to showcasing student scholarship through engaging oral and poster presentations.  In addition, please join us at the Awards Gala, where we will enjoy inspiring TED-like talks given by students, watch the debut of this year’s Scholars Video, and recognize the 2026 UGR Scholar Award winners. All are welcome—we hope you can celebrate with us!

  • 8:30 am to 9:25 am | Poster Session A, Student Union Ballroom w/ Breakfast
  • 9:35 am to 10:30 am | Poster Session B, Student Union Ballroom w/ Breakfast
  • 10:45 am to 11:45 am | Oral Presentation Session 1, Noble 130, Vallecito, Chem130
  • Noon to 1:00 pm | Poster Session C, Student Union Ballroom w/ lunch
  • 1:15 pm to 2:15 pm | Oral Presentation Session 2, Noble 130, Vallecito, Chem130, Senate Chambers
  • 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm | Oral Presentation Session 3, Noble 130, Vallecito, Chem130, Senate Chambers
  • 3:45 pm to 5:00 pm | Awards Gala: Student TED-like talks, Scholars Video and Awards, Main Stage of the FLC Theatre, w/ drinks & appetizers outside the west entrance afterwards

ORAL PRESENTATIONS

Students, are you interested in giving a 10-minute talk about your research?  To help students prepare excellent talks, UGR is offering two Communicating Your Research (CYR) workshops after spring break: 

  • CYR Workshop 1: Thursday, April 2nd, 12:50-2:10 pm (college hour), in the Student Union Ballroom.
  • CYR Workshop 2: Thursday, April 9th, 12:50-2:10 pm (college hour), at the Theatre Main Stage. 
  • Two participants from the workshop or FLC415 class will be selected to give talks at the Awards Gala happening at the end of the day on April 23rd (see schedule above)
  • There will be food at both workshops!
  • Oral Presenters should register by April 12th via THIS FORM. (closed)

POSTERS

Students, are you interested in presenting a poster at the Symposium?  Students, log into CAS and register your poster using the form below.  The deadline is April 16th.  Information about which students are presenting in which sessions will be available on this website by April 20th.  If you do not see the form, you can access it HERE.  Be sure to indicate if the poster you are presenting is about an Internship, Study Abroad, or an EXCEL class project; there is also a place to indicate if you need to be in a particular session or if you need a table or TV monitor.
