New Student and Family Orientation for the Fall 2017 semester will take place August 24th - August 26th, 2017. Students are automatically registered for the mandatory Orientation Program while family members are encouraged to attend our Family Orientation.
The purpose of New Student and Family Orientation is to support new members of Fort Lewis College in their transitional year. Our program has been intentionally developed with student success in mind, therefore it is critical that you attend.
We recognize that going to college is a new chapter in the lives of students, parents, relatives and friends. We want you to know that we are here to ease the transition. Our staff receive specialized training and our programs are designed to ensure that all participants have the opportunity and knowledge to navigate the transition in the most successful way.
It is our pleasure to help and direct you, answer your questions, address your concerns, and learn from you. We believe that orientation is a process, not merely an event. With that in mind, we are your hosts and guides for this next stage in your journey to a successful academic experience.
In addition to programs for new freshmen, transfer students, and family members, we provide special programs for students with disabilities, veterans, honors students, Native American students, and other students of color. Click on the “Special Programs” link to the left to learn more.
Fort Lewis College is committed to all programs being accessible for individuals with disabilities. If you are attending orientation and need disability-related assistance or have questions, please contact the Disability Services Office at 970-247-7383.
