Transfer Student Admission

To be considered for transfer admission, you must:

• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 across all college coursework.
• Be prepared for college-level math and English through completed coursework or remedial education.
• If you've completed fewer than 24 college credits, we'll also review your high school academic record.
• Guaranteed admission from a Colorado public two-year college

You're guaranteed admission to FLC if you:

• Earn an Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree from a Colorado public two-year college.
• Have a combined GPA of at least 2.5 across all colleges you've attended.
• Earn a C or better in all courses.

A non-refundable $40 application fee is required to process your application. 

You can pay your application fee with a bank debit or credit card online with your application.

You can also submit your application without payment and send a check from a United States bank or a bank money order in United States currency payable to “Fort Lewis College.” If you choose to send a check, please be sure your full name and date of birth are included on it.

Application fee waiver

You can request a fee waiver if you have extreme financial need. Select "yes" on the admission application when asked if you want to request a fee waiver due to financial hardship.

Send official transcripts from all colleges and universities you've attended as a part of your application. Institutions must send official college/university transcripts by mail or electronic submission to admission@fortlewis.edu or Fort Lewis College Admissions, 1000 Rim Drive, Durango, CO 81301.

If you have completed fewer than 24 college-level semester credits before applying, you'll also need to include one of the following:

• Your official final high school transcripts via mail, fax, or Naviance
• A homeschool transcript that includes subjects and grades for each year
• A high school equivalency certificate or diploma score (GED, HiSET, or TASC) including the graduation date

We encourage you to submit a personal statement or essay as a part of your admission application. While optional, it can provide valuable information for our review process.

This is a writing sample and should be between 200 and 500 words. Please tell us more about your educational journey and your academic goals.

• What would you like to study here, and why does that subject or program interest you?
• Why did you leave your previous institution(s)? 

If applicable, we encourage you to use this space to discuss any hardships or challenges you have faced during your educational journey.
