It’s more than just old stuff. It’s the record of our species—the legacy our forebears have left. The mistakes we’ve made, and our triumphs. Maybe you’re enchanted with a certain period, or the varying ways humans have approached a certain problem or task, such as agriculture or conflict. Whatever it is, you are fascinated with human history. And you want to share your love of history and culture with the next generation. Combine the best of a History major with the best of Teacher Education.

In addition to studying History, you’ll learn the skills to be successful in teaching middle and high school-aged students about past and present civilizations. Through Teacher Education courses and field work, you’ll be on track for licensing to teach 7-12 grade History in Colorado’s public schools. This is a rigorous program and is best completed by starting early in your college career. Talk with advisors in Teacher Education and History soon to see if this is a good fit for you.
