At your Employee Intake Meeting, a representative of Human Resources will explain the benefits package, guide you through the benefits enrollment procedures, and answer any questions you may have.
To help prepare for that meeting, you may want to review the various benefit packages offered by the college. Health, dental and life insurance becomes effective on your first day of employment so you will be asked during your Employee Intake Meeting to make benefit selections.
Fort Lewis College does not make contributions to Social Security. For some employees, important decisions regarding your retirement plan will need to be communicated to HR within your first couple of days of employment. Participation in one of the listed retirement plans is required.
*Faculty and Exempt staff can participate in PERA (if the employee is currently active in PERA or if they have been active in PERA in the past).
