So grateful for Artemis stepping in to help launch Black History Month through supporting the Black Student Union with their kickoff event. The BSRC does not have a coordinator and as part of the Belonging Team Artemis stepped right up in a welcoming way to assist with this evening event and to make sure our students were supported. The Belonging Team is going through a lot of transition and it is so helpful to have a colleague like Artemis who is willing to support the rest of the team so directly. Thank you, Artemis!

Even during his busiest time, Ben Miller was more than happy to assist Career Services with figuring out how to collect internship data through Workday. He problem solved for us and helped us understand what data we needed to inform out work on the Strategic Plan. He is a team player with an amazing attitude!

Ben has successfully led our office through the difficult transition to Workday. He has a wealth of knowledge that he constantly shares with students as well as other parties across campus.

With the recent good snowfall and the school closed, the amazing Carl Gregg (Mr. Plow) and his wonderful team in the Grounds Department (The Boys With The Toys) were able to get the roads and sidewalks cleared. Their unsung dedication to the campus is surely appreciated, thank you Carl and the PPS Grounds crew – Bert Poulton, David Hagen, Greg Wallace, Jake Kuylen, Matt Forgrave, Michael Stowers, Preston Charlie, Thomas Ross!

Celeste has been such an asset to the advising team in these last few months! Her leadership, creativity and can-do attitude are much appreciated and we're so glad she is on this team. Advising is more than just 'advising' and Celeste makes sure that our systems are running smoothly, our team is informed and is also a voice for the team when needed! Thank you for all of your contributions, Celeste!

Rif has really stepped into a customer service role with his position as CSO and has really shown excellent customer service by always going above and beyond to provide fast, friendly and courteous services to all our campus community members. Rif goes out of his way to help those he comes into contact with, and he is very good at helping customers who become upset and quickly coming to an agreeable resolution.

Ellie goes above and beyond to make sure that students are connected to support systems and simultaneously protected from potential unintended consequences. Ellie is polite, professional, and personable. She's also not afraid to initiate tough conversations when necessary and does so with grace. I feel proud and grateful to be on the same team, serving students side-by-side with Ellie.

Elvira played an important role in the Copilot Chat communication campaign through her strong collaboration, thoughtful input, and consistently positive engagement. Her work on the Outlook Newsletter content was especially impactful, helping translate a complex project into clear, approachable messaging that resonated with staff and faculty. Throughout the project rollout, Elvira actively participated in planning and coordination meetings, bringing enthusiasm, constructive feedback, and a collaborative spirit that helped keep momentum moving forward. Her positive energy, communications expertise, and commitment to clear, responsible messaging contributed meaningfully to a successful Copilot Chat launch at Fort Lewis College.

Leah has gone above and beyond over the last few weeks. The Katz School is both searching for a new Dean and undergoing AACSB re-accreditation in the same month. Leah has deftly managed both of these major events while simultaneously doing all the normal, everyday tasks of her job. Well done, Leah!

The last month in Katz has been exceptionally busy and Leah has been at the heart of it all. She has coordinated the logistics and communication for a handful of candidate visits as well as the detailed planning and preparation for our upcoming AACSB visit. Her attention to detail and proactive communication have been critical to our success. She is trusted to do all of the super important tasks and also kindly performs the very silly ones, like letting me into my office when I lost my keys. I'm so grateful to have her at the heart of our team during this time.

Huge thank you to Lizi for stepping in to help our Black Student Union host the Black History Month kick off event! The BSRC does not have a coordinator, the Belonging Team is going through transitions, and everyone has a lot on their plates. Lizi enthusiastically stepped in to support our students directly, and beyond 5pm. She has remained steady and an exemplary team player through transition and we are lucky to work with such a dynamic colleague. Thank you, Lizi!

Lorraine has made a huge difference helping students with complicated advising issues. In particular, one transfer student has a very unique path forward to graduation; Lorraine has tirelessly worked with the student to find a way so that the student can walk across the commencement stage this May. Well done, Dr. Taylor!

Mariah is a full-time student who also works full time as an evening custodian, a demanding role that requires reliability, professionalism, and care. This is at least her second year in this position, and throughout that time she has consistently demonstrated an exceptional work ethic and a positive presence in our building. She is kind, dependable, and consistently attentive to her regular responsibilities. When unexpected issues arise, Mariah does not hesitate to go above and beyond what is required. One example that stands out occurred when a student’s pet left a mess in the library without notifying staff. Mariah immediately paused her current work to thoroughly clean and sanitize the area, ensuring the space was safe and welcoming for everyone. She handled the situation calmly, efficiently, and without complaint. Mariah’s positive attitude, willingness to take initiative, and genuine care for the campus community make a meaningful difference every day. She is deeply appreciated by Library staff, and we truly “heart” Mariah.

Matt recently joined our office as Curriculum Manager and has already made a significant contribution. His background and experience here at FLC have uniquely prepared him for this undertaking. We are very fortunate to have him as part of our team.

Paulinda noticed that I didn't have worked hours submitted for payroll. She was nice enough to help me get it completed so that it made payroll for the week.

Peter approached me about fresh wax in EBH 208. The floors in that room had not been cared for several years. I really appreciated Peter’s initiative in recognizing and addressing the issue. Peter arranged for the furniture to be removed, the floor to be stripped and waxed, and the furniture to be returned to the room. This was all accomplished without interrupting any scheduled use of the room. EBH looks wonderful!

With a recent mechanical issue in a hall, Rod's quick thinking and ingenuity resolved the issue that was very difficult. Thank you Rod for all you do for the students and the campus!

I want to express appreciation to Sia for being such an amazing leader and team member during a transition period with our team. She took on helping our students host a Black History Month speaker and made sure all the details were covered, that the students felt supported and celebrated, and went above and beyond with everything from airport pick up to organizing dinner. Sia also welcomed our new Assistant Director with a thoughtful and intentional tour of campus and the surrounding area. Sia consistently goes above and beyond and makes our FLC community a better and more welcoming place.

On a recent day this month, this department was severely short staffed. Margery, Michelle, Saida, and Yasoda went above and beyond to make sure the students were taken care of during their mini break. Their dedication and teamwork to the students and the campus are amazing and deserve recognition. Thank you so much for all you do!
